About Luther's Mountain

Luther's Mountain plays bluegrass, gospel, and old time favorites. The band members are from the west Atlanta area around Dallas, Rockmart, and Douglasville. Ron, Randy and Ben have known each other for many years as they were members of the same church. They started practicing together in March 2007 and formed a band that is now known as Luther's Mountain. Dane joined in September 2010 and Bill joined in October 2011.

Dane Avery
Mandolin, vocals

Dane Avery is a professional handyman and minister of the Gospel. He has been a mandolin player wanna-be for years. He loves traditional Bluegrass and Gospel. Dane also plays the guitar and cross-harp. You might see him any place that Bluegrass is being played. Dane believes his greatest accomplishment in life has been fathering five fabulous and musically talented children who love the Lord.

Ron Cline Ron Cline
Banjo, vocals


Ron was born in California, and raised in Georgia. Ron played in 2 rock 'n roll bands in high school and college. Then came many years working and raising children with occasional times spent playing music for family. In 2005, Ron began playing music a lot more. He started writing music in 2006. Ron's musical inspirations are Alison Krauss, Bill Monroe, John Hartford, and Earl Scruggs.
Bill Lindsey Bill Lindsey
Fiddle

Bill was born and raised in Dallas, Georgia and currently resides in Douglasville. He started playing bluegrass banjo and guitar in 1973 and loves foot stomping Bluegrass and Old Time music. He entered the Air Force only days after turning 18 and retired in 2008 after 30 years as an Air Traffic Controller with the Federal Aviation Administration. Since his retirement, he has taken his music seriously and added the mandolin and fiddle to his tool box. Bill is also the mandolin player with the "Dixie Sounds" a Carrollton area Gospel band.
     
Randy Link
Guitar, vocals

Randy was born and raised in California. He joined the United States Army at the age of 18. Met and married his wife while stationed at Fort Benning, Ga. He has a married son who is currently in the US Army and a daughter who is attending college. He received his first guitar as a Christmas gift while stationed in Germany and taught himself how to play it. He enjoys many genres of music, but became a fan of Bluegrass when he began practicing with Ron and Ben, who he met at church.
Ben Miner
Bass

Ben
can keep a beat and enjoys playing the bass. He enjoys spending time with his family and is involved with his church. His musical inspirations are his Dad (Dave Miner), Flea (Red Hot Chili Peppers) and John Paul Jones. Ben got a new stand up bass for Father's Day in 2008 and is thrilled.
